Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to Launch Border Trade Zone
The “Khorezm–Dashoguz” border trade zone will soon be operational, according to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade. Both sides will sign an agreement and adopt an action plan to boost trade to $2 billion.
The meeting took place on August 5–6 in Avaza during the UN LLDC Conference. Minister Laziz Kudratov discussed industrial cooperation, logistics, and joint projects with Turkmen officials.
The trade zone is located at the Shavat–Dashoguz border crossing. Turkmen citizens will enjoy a 15-day visa-free stay.
