Starlink Expands Its Presence in Central Asia
Starlink satellite internet has become available in Tajikistan. High-speed internet will initially be provided to a number of facilities in mountainous and hard-to-reach areas where ground-based communication infrastructure remains limited. This is expected to improve access to digital services, including in education, healthcare, and local government operations.
Meanwhile, Starlink has already been operating in Kazakhstan since last year. The service’s regional expansion reflects growing demand for alternative communication channels and Central Asian countries’ efforts to enhance the resilience and coverage of their telecommunications infrastructure, particularly outside major cities.
