Today we mark thirty-five years of independence.
Three and a half decades ago Uzbekistan set out on its own path — one that has taken it from the first years of sovereignty to an open and confident presence in the world.
Uzbekistan today is a nation of almost forty million people, one of the youngest in the region, with an economy several times larger than a decade ago.
Warmest congratulations on this day — wishing all who celebrate in Uzbekistan and across the world peace and prosperity, and our nation new achievements in the years ahead!
