Stronger connections. The sides will develop the Trans-Caspian Trade Route and invest in infrastructure to boost two-way trade and investment. Digital links and English-language education will help bring the peoples of C5+1 countries closer together.
Central Asia at the centre of the global economy. Expanding intraregional trade, harmonising customs procedures and deepening industrial cooperation will help build a competitive regional market connected with the United States. The stated goal is for Central Asia to return to the centre of the global economy.
Investment in both directions. The B5+1 platform will keep creating opportunities for American companies in the region, while Central Asian enterprises will gain more access to the U.S. market. E-commerce, innovation and entrepreneurship built on secure and trusted technology are highlighted.
Energy and minerals. The countries will combine their strengths to develop the energy sector and integrated high-value supply chains. Plans include exchanging expertise on geological data (“data is gold”), expanding mineral extraction and processing, and increasing value-added production within the region.
Security. Priorities include countering terrorism and transnational organised crime, strengthening border security and combating human, drug and arms trafficking. Cyber security cooperation is singled out as a response to the threats of the digital era.
Nuclear security. Building on the Central Asian Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone, the sides will deepen cooperation on the physical protection of nuclear material, safeguards and the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
Cultural heritage. C5+1 countries will expand professional, cultural and educational exchanges, use new technologies to protect antiquities, and grow tourism and the creative economy to create the jobs of the future.
