The sides discussed the development of regional cooperation in Central Asia, the outcomes of the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia held in Tashkent last year, and the strengthening of the region’s engagement with external partners through the “C5+” formats.
Javlon Vakhabov noted that Central Asia is gradually moving beyond the stage of overcoming long-standing differences and toward a new culture of regional interaction grounded in trust, political dialogue, and a shared sense of responsibility for peace, stability, and development across the common regional space.
For his part, Kaha Imnadze emphasized that Central Asia has demonstrated encouraging progress in regional cooperation in recent years and may increasingly be viewed as an example of how states can respond to the United Nations’ call for peace, dialogue, and preventive diplomacy.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue practical cooperation between IICA and UNRCCA, including through joint events and expert discussions on regional cooperation, preventive diplomacy, and peacebuilding in Central Asia.
