IICA Hosts Meeting with Students of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan
The initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to designate every Thursday as “Youth Day” is enhancing engagement with young people and strengthening support for their initiatives.

As part of the implementation of this initiative, the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) hosted a meeting with students and faculty members of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan. The discussion was led by Professor Saidmukhtor Saidkasyimov, Advisor to the Director of IICA.

During the meeting, participants were presented with an overview of the Institute’s activities, its key objectives, and the main areas of its research and analytical work.

Special emphasis was placed on the growing importance of IICA’s analytical work in the context of contemporary regional and international developments, as well as in shaping expert approaches to sustainable development and regional stability.

Stressing about current regional trends, prof. Saidkasyimov noted that in recent years Central Asia has demonstrated steady progress and is gradually emerging as a space for mutually beneficial cooperation. This process contributes to strengthening trust among regional states, expanding cooperation, and enhancing regional stability.

Particular attention was also given to the significance of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the outcomes of the Tashkent Summit held in November 2025. These meetings have become an important mechanism for strengthening trust among the countries of the region, aligning policy approaches, and advancing joint initiatives.

The discussion also addressed the growing role of the “CA+” cooperation formats, which help strengthen the region’s position in dialogue with major international partners and organizations while opening new opportunities for joint initiatives.
