During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of Uzbekistan–Sweden partnership, as well as prospects for deepening collaboration within the “C5+N5” format.
Amb.Vakhabov highlighted the dynamic growth of engagement between the countries of Central Asia and the Nordic Council in the context of increasing mutual interest. The IICA’s director emphasized that the first meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Nordic and Central Asian countries, held in Vienna in 2025, was an important milestone that contributed to a more systematic and sustainable interregional dialogue.
It was also mentioned that the official visit of the Finnish President, Alexander Stubb, to Uzbekistan in 2025 provided new momentum not only for expanding bilateral relations but also for advancing the multilateral partnership agenda.
In turn, Torbjörn Solström underscored the significant potential for interaction between the countries of Central Asia and the Nordic states. He also pointed to broad opportunities for cooperation in transport and logistics, green energy, innovative technologies, critical minerals, education, and humanitarian exchanges.
At the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual readiness to further develop practical collaboration, expand contacts between think tanks and organize joint events.
