The event brought together representatives of leading business, investment, and government circles in Washington State, including the leadership of Greater Seattle Partners, representatives of Boeing, the Office of the Governor of Washington state, the Washington State Department of Agriculture, the Washington State Department of Commerce, as well as entrepreneurs and experts in international economic development.
Participants discussed opportunities for expanding trade and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States, with a particular focus on practical engagement with Washington State. Innovation, digital technologies, aviation, agriculture and food processing, logistics, green energy, startups, workforce development, and direct contacts between the business communities of both sides were identified as priority areas.
Javlon Vakhabov noted that the choice of Seattle as a new center of Uzbekistan’s official presence in the United States reflects Tashkent’s intention to bring engagement with the Pacific Northwest to a more systematic level. He emphasized that the Greater Seattle region is of particular interest to Uzbekistan as one of the leading U.S. hubs for technology, aviation, logistics, innovative entrepreneurship, and global business, with companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Costco, Starbucks, Alaska Airlines, and others either headquartered or actively represented in the region.
It was also emphasized that cooperation with Washington State’s business community can become an important practical component of the Uzbekistan–U.S. partnership. In this context, significant opportunities were noted in the aviation sector, including cooperation with Boeing, as well as in agriculture, where Washington state has a strong export base, developed port infrastructure, experience in promoting products in international markets, and modern solutions in storage, processing, and logistics.
