The event, chaired by the President of the United States Donald Trump, was attended by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
At the “Central Asia–U.S.” summit, the parties discussed issues of economic and military-technical cooperation, digital development, transport, agriculture, energy, access to mineral resources, and investment.
It was emphasized that the current summit marks a new stage in the development of the strategic dialogue between Central Asia and the United States.
In order to further expand cooperation within the “C5+1” framework, the leaders of the Central Asian countries and the United States proposed a number of initiatives.
In particular, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to hold the next summit in the city of Samarkand.
Following the summit, a number of multilateral documents were adopted.
