Uzbekistan and Japanese companies discuss $4.2 billion in energy projects
Uzbekistan held talks with Sumitomo Corporation and Shikoku Electric Power on joint projects worth $4.2 billion. These include solar power plants in the Samarkand region, wind farms in Karakalpakstan and energy storage systems.
Further areas of cooperation include upgrading electricity grids, manufacturing cables for power transmission lines and training energy sector specialists.
